Can Foreigners Elope in Spain?

Unfortunately, foreigners can’t legally elope in Spain until one partner possesses a legal residence for at least two years. Therefore, many couples opt to have civil ceremonies in their home country, followed by a symbolic ceremony in Spain. As the rules continue to change, be sure to reach out to the Embassy and government authorities to inquire if there is any change in the laws. Galicia

Galicia is famous for incredible seafood, uncrowded beaches, and breathtaking scenery. It’s considered a monumental jewel and a perfect elopement destination due to its picturesque views, buildings, and houses.

Tossa De Mar

It’s a coastal town near Barcelona, known for its old architecture; features some of the most incredible beaches. The location remains pretty busy during the summers, so you may consider planning a weekday elopement or during the offseason.

Madrid

Madrid is a fantastic place for couples who would love to combine tradition with modernity. If you are a cosmopolitan couple, you will adore this city with great food and bustling lifestyle, amazing nightlife, and gothic architecture!

Valencia

Truly an idyllic place to elope in Europe. You will be amazed to see so many pretty places in Valencia to exchange vows. In short, this city will spoil you for choices regarding venues and locations in the region. The scenery, with the world-famous City of Arts and Sciences building, delivers an extraordinary experience. It’s one of the most beautiful places that you must consider.

When to elope in Spain?

Do you know the best thing about Spain? It’s the weather!

The weather in Spain is so mild that it remains dry most of the year. Still, I have figured out the best two seasons to elope – spring and fall. Both these seasons bring along good weather, plenty of activities, and minimal crowd. During the winters, the northern part of Spain gets snow, and the Southern part remains dry. On the other hand, the summers are very hot and crowded!

Spain Elopement Cost

Typically, a budget-friendly elopement in Spain can cost you between $5,000 – $10,000. Whereas for a high-end elopement, expect to pay anywhere from $11,000 to $20,000.

I hope I have inspired you to plan an elopement in Spain! And you know I’d love to come with you to document the whole thing…so…you know :) Click here to connect!
