Laramie is such a beautiful and kind spirit who captures the most gorgeous images. I couldn’t be more grateful that we snagged her for our wedding photography and videography. She and her husband, who tag-teamed the photo and video, were so lovely to work with and helped make our day be about us. They kept us on schedule, gave us breaks, and made us laugh, all while creating magic with their cameras. Truly an amazing experience!

Besides the actual getting married part, working with Laramie and Dylan at Wandering Creative was the highlight of our wedding day. My husband and I are not naturals when it comes to getting photos taken, but you'd never know it from the photos that Laramie took. If you're looking for a documentary style with gorgeous light, and if you want those sweet, secret moments captured with you and all your loved ones, you can't pick a better team. On top of Laramie's technical skill, she's also an absolute delight to work with. Great communicator, great advocate for me, and helped wrangle family and bridal party with grace. I couldn't be happier with our experience.

Laramie photographed our wedding this past July, and we can't say enough good things! We absolutely LOVE our photos! Neither of us are super comfortable in front of a camera, but Laramie made it so fun, easy, and made us look natural and not awkward! She captured the essence of all of the moments- the joy, the love, and all of the excitement of our wedding day! We love that she captured so many pictures of us in the moment and not just posed pictures. Her photography and editing is so artistic and beautiful. Before our big day, Laramie talked us through everything and met with us a couple times to make sure everything would go smoothly and answered all of our questions. We recommend A Wandering Creative to anyone looking for gorgeous, artistic, beautiful photos!!

You absolutely fucking nailed it and maybe I’m just going to wallpaper my house with these pictures. You were so easy to work with and rolled perfectly with our ideas. The first thing my mom said when she saw these was “wow she really captured exactly who you two are” and we both feel the same way.

Laramie was the perfect photographer—and she even went above and beyond photography! She was so kind and generous to us from our first communication, and the photos she took were stunning. When our florist fell through, she even jumped in and did our flowers too! Our wedding wouldn't have been the same without Laramie. We're so happy to have found her, and we can't recommend her enough!

Laramie is a phenomenal photographer! She made the whole process easy from start to finish. Excellent communicator, extremely professional, if I could give her 10 stars, I would. Not only did she produce gorgeous photos for my wedding, but she is also a very sweet person and made our photo session a blast. While she photographed our ceremony, she was so quiet that I forgot she was there, and I didn't feel nervous at all. For your next event, hire her. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer or wedding album.
Nicole & Andrew
You were such a dream to us yesterday. Safe, steady, directed and fun to have there. It felt so natural and right to have you there. I’m annoyed for you that you took so many great shots you’ll have to cull and edit now but I’m so dang happy, because these have been elevated to such a level of magic. No one else could have made my heart explode quite this way. Thank you so much for giving so much of yourselves to us yesterday. What a gift.

Common FAQs
Q: How long have you been a photographer?
A: I went full time as a photographer in 2019...which in normal years isn't that long ago! In COVID years (similar to Dog years at this point), is like a decade. So much has happened since I first picked up a camera! I've traveled, have lots of out of state weddings and portraits under my belt, as well as a couple foreign countries....and it's only getting better :)
Q: How many weddings have you photographed?
A: As of 2022 I have over 60 weddings & elopements in my portfolio as a lead photographer, and twice as many portrait sessions. The more weddings I've photographed, the more I've become aware that I really love the intimacy of private ceremonies. There's just something about doing it with just you and your partner, and maybe a handful of people you love.
Q: Do I need a second photographer?
A: Honestly, it comes down to a budget question. Unlimited budget - then sure, you'll get more beautiful photos, more angles, additional coverage because I can't be in two places at once. Personally, I say no --- unless you have more than 200 guests, which, in that case you're having a wedding and not an elopement, so I would highly recommend one!
Q: Do I need an engagement session?
A: That totally depends on you and what you need! You can use the photos for your save-the-dates if you're having a post elopement reception, website registries, framed prints for your guest table, bar, and your house... and of course Facebook & Instagram! Plus, it's a way for you to get a little practice in front of the camera before your big day and it gives us an opportunity to get to know each other. :) I love grabbing a drink or a coffee pre-shoot, just to get a little more comfy and ease any nerves. If you're camera shy, I highly recommend it, and it doesn't have to be a long and grueling shoot. If you don't care about engagement photos- I say skip them :)
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: Not assuming you'll know what I'm talking about, but I personally use a Canon R6 (mirrorless) with prime lenses. I also have a trusty 6D that I'll whip out if I need a backup, but there's usually two mirrorless cameras on me during any ceremony. Both are literally on me at all times throughout your elopement day so I never have to worry about changing lenses, switching memory cards, or changing batteries. Every moment matters - and this is why the majority of my clients come to me because of the "candid and documentary style". I don't miss anything!
Q: Do you offer any albums, prints, canvases, guest books, etc?
A: Prints and Canvases! But I want you feeling 1,000% comfortable and excited about the quality of your photographs before placing orders on those. That way you only order exactly what you want, when you want, and when you know with confidence that they are going to look amazing on your walls and in your fine art prints. And all of this is done & ordered right through your online gallery!
Q: Do you offer payment plans?
A: Yes, I do! Traditional payments are 33% due at the time of booking (within 48 hours), and the final two payments are due 90 and 30 days prior to your wedding day. But, if you want to do the payment plan, I can stretch it into equal 1/4's or 1/5's if that works best for you. Just let me know what you prefer, and I will make it happen. It's that easy. Photography is expensive, I absolutely get that and want to make this as easy as possible.
Q: what happens if you aren't able to make it to our big day?
In the super unlikely event that I am too ill, injured, or there's some other emergency, I have a list of colleagues that I can call on to replace me that have similar styles of photography. If this were to occur, another professional would photograph for me, and I would still edit your session. All that said, I have not once missed a wedding, elopement, or portrait session.
Q: How do I book you for my elopement?
A: Love that question the most! To book me for your unique elopement, simply let me know what you want included in your custom collection: 1) Number of hours of coverage, 2) Engagement session (optional), 3) Second photographer or none (optional), and 4) What payment plan option works best for you.
