My clients have mixed feelings about black and white photos a lot of the time. Some are down for a good handful of them, some of them are almost 100% against them. But if I had my way, I’d deliver galleries full of black and white timeless portraits and candid snaps.
Regardless of what the world thinks, I am hands down in love with doing some black and white photos in every single gallery. There is something about stripping all the color out that brings out a whole other level of drama, and as an artist, I like having creative freedom.
Do you agree? Disagree? Either way, I hope you let your elopement photographer include some black and whites, because they’re just classy as hell :)
If you’re looking for a documentary style, editorial elopement photographer who has a special place in life for black and white portraits, look no further. Let’s tell this timeless tale. Hop over here and say hi!
Whether you’re on the fence about black and white photos, or don’t mind having a few, know this: they’re timeless. Editing styles change, color palettes change, and your taste will even change! But black and white will always be black and white. Find someone whose B&W you love and get their camera in your face. You won’t regret it, I promise.
Plus, black and white portraits completely get ride of any skin discoloration (for the most part), wardrobe color clashing, landscape that might not be the shade you thought it would. Black and white is a game changer and a life saver.
These are some of my favorites, but like I said before, if I had someone ask for an all black and white gallery, you know I’d be over the moon.

I'm Laramie (she/her) and no matter how you plan to celebrate, I've got your back. I often work with couples who scale down their wedding plans in an effort to escape the pressure and tradition pushed upon them by society / family. I've even been trusted with secret ceremonies that to this day I haven't ever shared.
I am an advocate for your peace, your ideas, and YOUR day. That's a promise.
