Romantic Places to Stay in Memphis?

Your first night as a married couple is meant to be special. So you need accommodation that can take romance to the next level. A romantic getaway in Memphis goes hand in hand with a nice hotel room that can flare up passion. Luckily, this city has an abundance of hotels that perfectly fit this description.

When you choose where to stay on your wedding night in Memphis, look for something that really pairs with your idea of romance. I’ve selected a few hotels that might help you in narrowing down your choices.

Peabody Hotel

If you want to get a piece of the classic Memphis, the Peabody Hotel might be your perfect fit. Honestly, there is no better place to spend your romantic escape after your wedding than in the heart of this stunning hotel. Spacious and classy rooms are just what you need on your wedding night!

Plus, you will get the chance to taste some of the most delicious desserts. Their treats are a real heaven for the sweet tooth’s if you ask me! If you’re not a fan of cakes, you can always enjoy their amazing drinks. And the most fascinating thing of all, you get to see ducks walking around the hotel at all times. You can’t expect less from Memphis weekend getaways, right? We are all about the Peabody Ducks :)

River Inn

If you want something different from the archetypal Memphis hotels, why not choose an inn? The River Inn is situated in Harbor Town – a tiny island of which Memphis is quite proud. You will get to stay in uniquely-decorated rooms that will remind you of old times, and you will truly escape from reality for just a little bit.

In addition, you will be offered the opportunity to have romantic nights with a splendid view on the rooftop of the inn. Their fabulous bar is perfect for laid-back evenings with your partner.

Hu Hotel

This might be one of the most desired Memphis hotels, especially among newlyweds. Most couples want something modern and chic for their romantic getaway in Memphis, so it isn’t strange that their choice is the Hu Hotel. This hotel has recently been renovated, and it has a fresh look.

It’s located on Madison Avenue, and it comes with a splendid view. Since it’s in the heart of the city, you will get the chance to visit amazing spots that are found in the area. Many agree that this is one of the best Memphis hotels for its location.

• Central Station Hotel

This is hands down one of my favorite hotels and places to hang in Memphis. Our old train station sat vacant for a long time, and it was finally renovated a while back into this gorgeous hotel. It’s chic, has the Memphis soul, creativity, and houses the Eighth & Sand bar, Listening Lounge, and Bishop restaurant. Definitely take a stroll over to this wild building even if you’re not staying there! You won’t regret it.

What to do in Memphis?

Once you pick out where to stay on your wedding night in Memphis, it’s a good idea to start planning the agenda for your romantic weekend getaways. As I previously mentioned, Memphis is a place for literally everyone, so you will definitely find something to do there that will steal your heart. We are a diverse and eccentric city!

In my recommendation list, I have included something for the musical souls because I honestly believe that Memphis has a lot to offer in music. Additionally, I have added some romantic activities that might make your romantic getaway in Memphis genuinely memorable.

Memphis Rock ‘n Soul Museum

I can say only one thing about this museum – it will rock your face off. If you and your partner are into rock music, you can’t miss out on this place. This museum will actually show you why Memphis has actually become the city of music, and you don’t need any other explanation!  Here is a link to get you started :)

Sun Studio Tour

The Sun Studio goes hand in hand with the Rock’n’Roll Museum, so I would recommend visiting them both! If that’s not possible, then at least don’t miss out on visiting one of them. The Sun Studio portrays the birth of rock and roll, and you get to see the remains of the everlasting legends of this kind of music.

You can hear pieces of sessions of legendary rock stars, such as Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, and B.B. King. Believe me, when I say, there is nothing more amazing than this! Get all your tour info here.

Memphis Music Hall of Fame

Do you want to see the rising legends that are known across the globe in one place? Well, here you have them. The Memphis Music Hall of Fame is dedicated to the legends that have had a major contribution to the music industry.

Dixon Gallery and Gardens

Something that you can’t leave out when you’re visiting Memphis, is the Dixon Gallery and Gardens. After your wedding or elopement, you might need a romantic stroll through nature. I can’t think of a better place than the Gardens of the Dixon Gallery.

For an even more special experience, take your romantic stroll on the third Thursday of the month. This is when the gallery is open until late in the evening. So you will get the chance to enjoy it at the most magical part of the day. You can’t experience this in restaurants in Memphis, so spare at least one evening of your weekend getaways for this activity.

• Beale Street Historic District

If you are a fan of the blues, you need to visit this stunning district. It is the place where every blues musician has performed at some point in time, so don’t miss it! Plus, if you are looking for great restaurants in Memphis, here you will find a superb one. Itta Bena is one of the most romantic restaurants you can find in the city, so you can be sure that you will enjoy a special culinary delight with your loved one! It’s also situated secretly above B.B. King’s, so you seriously feel like you’re in another world.
