Congratulations, you just got engaged! Now, you must be looking for the best spot to tie the knot, right? Fortunately for you, Memphis is a stunning place to get engaged, get married, get some rest, get an adventure going… It has so many gorgeous locations – from mansions and chic art museums to riverfront venues. However, finding the perfect fit can be challenging because there are so many cool wedding venues in Memphis. Some are intimate, some are perfect for elopements, and some are home to some big and bold weddings. But no worries here! To help you, I have curated a list of some of my favorite wedding venues in Memphis, TN.
Plan an unforgettable elopement at the Woodruff Fontaine Museum! The stunning and historic wedding venue is a 19th-century historical mansion where weddings have been a tradition since 1871. It features antique furnishings, breathtaking grounds, and French Victorian charm that makes for perfect photos of your special day. I have photographed here a few times, and it has quickly become one of my favorite venues. The staff is fantastic, the house is so, so cool, and the grounds are just beautiful. I have more details and photos of the venue here if you’re looking to book the Woodruff Fontaine House!!
Elmwood’s historic grounds are stunning if you are looking for a memorable venue. Its beautiful settings form the perfect backdrop for your special day. The primary event venue boasts beamed ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that bring natural beauty. Several outdoor locations are available, including the cottage garden and paved area for elopement weddings. If you’re unsure about eloping in a cemetery, but it sounds like your vibe, check out this intimate wedding at Elmwood Cemetery shot in July!
This museum is another one of my favorite wedding venues in Memphis, TN, and one I highly recommend. The Brooks Museum of Art is an excellent site with outdoor galleries and terraces that are such cool spots for a private ceremony. It is a flexible wedding venue with the potential to realize any vision. I adore this extravagant site because it offers lots of ease and flexibility regarding elopements and intimate weddings! Check out their wedding and event packages, or, if you’re really feeling it, meet me on the steps for a quick ceremony to seal the deal!
If you and your partner are big-time fans of rock’n’roll, get hitched at this fantastic music venue! Exchange vows at the place where some of the most incredible bands like Those Darlins and Elvis Costello have ever played. AND…my band Laramie. We played here many late nights years ago. The owner, Skinny, is the absolute kindest and coolest guy, so if you want somewhere with music history and also love from locals, this is it. A small wedding venue in Memphis that is perfect for modern and eclectic couples.
Get ready to have your mind blown by your dream wedding or elopement at the Memphis Botanic Garden! MBG is one of the best wedding venues in Memphis, TN, featuring 96 acres of enchanting gardens, woodlands, and stunning indoor spaces. Exchange vows in front of the Japanese Garden of Tranquility’s famed red bridge, the rose garden, or any other spot. Your wedding ceremony will no doubt be perfect- nothing short of magical. I’ve assisted on some enormous weddings here and done small elopement sessions. Any way you spin it, MBG is incredibly ideal for a wedding. Head over to Kim and Jeff’s elopement blog for some peeks at the gardens.
The Pink Palace Museum Wedding Venue in Memphis is a unique and glamorous wedding venue with a charismatic twist. The venue is a 36,500-square-foot mansion surrounded by beautiful landscaping, historic trees, and rolling green lawns. It offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for the ceremony and reception and can accommodate up to 2000 guests. The venue also provides access to the museum, which features exhibits that celebrate Southern history and culture and offers private IMAX movie showings, tours of the solar system, and planetarium laser shows.
The Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis is a beautiful and stylish wedding venue that offers lush gardens, art galleries, and contemporary event spaces. The venue has two garden spaces for outdoor ceremonies, a large pavilion for receptions, and a banquet room featuring special artwork. The property is perfect for taking stunning wedding photos, with 17 acres of gardens, trails, and pathways. However, there is no designated bridal suite for preparation. Margaret and Hugo Dixon, philanthropists and leaders in the community, founded the Dixon Gallery and Gardens to share their appreciation of the arts and beautiful gardens with the Memphis community.
First up: The Metal Museum! A scenic venue situated right in the heart of Memphis. Nestled beautifully on the Mississippi River, the venue enables you to celebrate your wedding in a really unique atmosphere. The grounds are beautifully dotted with century-old trees, giving an elegant ceremony or reception backdrop. But, if lots of nature is different from what you’re looking for, there is plenty of incredible sculpture art around. There are numerous outdoor sites suitable for both elopements and intimate gatherings.
The hotel features a perfect blend of historic architecture with contemporary design. The Central Station Hotel provides one-of-a-kind settings that you will most certainly fall in love with after you say “I do.” You will absolutely marvel at the customized chandeliers, high-end engineering, and original train station that has been carefully restored. It’s modern meets retro, and let’s not forget the iconic speaker wall. You’ll definitely want a photo :) If you need more convincing, head over to Caroline & Neil’s courthouse wedding, with a Central Station reception. You’ll have speaker wall envy!
If you dream of exchanging vows as you overlook an incredible riverfront, one of my favorite spots is the River Inn. Here, you have access to scenic views of the Mississippi that cannot be found anywhere else in Memphis. You can have an intimate gathering at the Terrace at River Inn or just elope in Harbortown and have some portraits done in and around the hotel. The choice is yours :)
The James Lee House, a boutique bed and breakfast in Memphis, Tennessee, is a National Historic Landmark with stunning architectural features and treasured antiques. The house has a rich heritage of art, music, and literature. Each of its five suites is meticulously appointed and thoughtfully decorated, inviting an unforgettable stay. Guests can indulge in refined Victorian splendor and contemporary comfort. The hosts are welcoming and strive to provide every guest with a wonderful Memphis wedding experience!

I'm Laramie (she/her) and no matter how you plan to celebrate, I've got your back. I often work with couples who scale down their wedding plans in an effort to escape the pressure and tradition pushed upon them by society / family. I've even been trusted with secret ceremonies that to this day I haven't ever shared.
I am an advocate for your peace, your ideas, and YOUR day.
That's a promise.
